This is the second FSA album, but not album number two. Distance is a collection of now unavailable single tracks, and also some tracks intended for release at various times but which have remained unheard until now. The tracks now gathered together here, together with the first self-titled FSA album, make up everything that we've released since we started in January 1993.

Other Notes:
Unlike [r=10182577], this issue has "Printed in Canada" printed on the inner panel."Distance" is a CD release by Flying Saucer Attack, a project known for its unique fusion of lo-fi aesthetics, noise, drone and ethereal melodic fragments. The album gathers early recordings and hard-to-find material, presenting a raw, unpolished sound that emphasizes texture over conventional song structure. Layers of feedback-drenched guitar, distant vocals and tape hiss create an atmospheric, almost dreamlike listening experience that oscillates between fragile beauty and dense, immersive noise. This makes "Distance" an essential document of the band's early phase and a compelling entry point for anyone interested in experimental guitar music and home-recorded psychedelia.
Flying Saucer Attack have earned a lasting reputation in the fields of experimental rock, shoegaze and drone through their singular, DIY-driven approach. Emerging from the independent scene of the 1990s, the project became a touchstone for bands and listeners seeking an alternative to studio-polished production, showing how four-track recordings and limited means can yield a remarkably rich, evocative sound world. Their releases are often cited for their influence on later generations of experimental and post-rock artists, and "Distance" captures that spirit in a particularly direct and unfiltered way.
The CD format gives this material the clarity and continuity it deserves, allowing listeners to experience these tracks as a cohesive whole rather than scattered rarities. Subtle shifts in dynamics and texture become more apparent, and the flow from one piece to the next underlines the album's hypnotic character. Whether played at low volume as an enveloping background haze or loudly for a more physical impact, "Distance" reveals new details with each listen and invites repeated exploration.
Vhf, the label behind this release, is known for its dedication to experimental, underground and boundary-pushing music. Over the years, Vhf has built a catalogue that places artistic exploration above commercial trends, often working with artists who challenge conventional genre lines and recording practices. By issuing "Distance," Vhf underlines its commitment to preserving and presenting important documents of experimental sound culture, making this CD not only a fascinating album in itself but also part of a broader, carefully curated label history. | | | No. of tracks: |
