Rooted in European free improvisation and transatlantic avant-garde jazz, the album explores the space "beyond the margins" of conventional form: extended improvisations, elastic tempos and spontaneous interaction shape music that feels raw, alive and intensely communicative. The LP format underlines the organic, session-like character of the recording, inviting listeners to immerse themselves in long-form pieces where dynamics shift from whisper-quiet introspection to explosive collective outbursts. THE BRIDGE (Rodrigo Amado with Schlippenbach/Håker Flaten) brings together three key figures from contemporary improvised music: Rodrigo Amado is known in the international free-jazz scene for his robust, vocalic tenor sound and his work in various high-profile ensembles; Alexander von Schlippenbach is one of the central architects of European free jazz and avant-garde piano, active for decades in groundbreaking projects; Ingebrigt Håker Flaten has built a reputation as a powerhouse bassist in modern jazz and improv, with an unmistakable tone and a strong presence on the European and American scenes.
