"Beyond The Margins" is an LP that captures the fearless energy and subtle lyricism of THE BRIDGE, the ensemble led by Portuguese saxophonist Rodrigo Amado with free-jazz luminaries Alexander von Schlippenbach and Ingebrigt Håker Flaten. Rooted in European free improvisation and transatlantic avant-garde jazz, the album explores the space "beyond the margins" of conventional form: extended improvisations, elastic tempos and spontaneous interaction shape music that feels raw, alive and intensely communicative. The LP format underlines the organic, session-like character of the recording, inviting listeners to immerse themselves in long-form pieces where dynamics shift from whisper-quiet introspection to explosive collective outbursts. "Beyond The Margins" is aimed at listeners who appreciate detailed interplay, acoustic depth and a physical, room-filling sound that rewards repeated listening on a quality turntable setup.

THE BRIDGE (Rodrigo Amado with Schlippenbach/Håker Flaten) brings together three key figures from contemporary improvised music: Rodrigo Amado is known in the international free-jazz scene for his robust, vocalic tenor sound and his work in various high-profile ensembles; Alexander von Schlippenbach is one of the central architects of European free jazz and avant-garde piano, active for decades in groundbreaking projects; Ingebrigt Håker Flaten has built a reputation as a powerhouse bassist in modern jazz and improv, with an unmistakable tone and a strong presence on the European and American scenes. Together they form a trio that balances structural awareness with risk-taking spontaneity, creating music that is both demanding and deeply engaging.

The LP is released by Trost, distributed via Cargo. Trost is an independent label with a strong focus on adventurous jazz, free improvisation and experimental music, known for carefully curated catalogues and high-quality physical editions, especially on vinyl. In collaboration with Cargo as distribution partner, Trost ensures that challenging, non-mainstream music reaches a worldwide audience, while maintaining an artist-friendly, enthusiast-driven approach to production and presentation. Collectors of avant-garde jazz and improvised music will recognize Trost's reputation for tasteful artwork, solid pressing quality and a catalogue that consistently documents some of the most compelling voices in today's experimental scenes.

With "Beyond The Margins", Trost / Cargo once again underline their role as a home for artists who refuse to compromise on artistic vision. This LP is as much a document of a unique meeting between major improvisers as it is a statement about the durability of jazz as an exploratory art form. For fans of free jazz, European improv and intense acoustic interaction, this record stands as a noteworthy addition to any serious vinyl collection.
