Description:Double Gatefold LP Repress Of The Classic 1973 Live Album By Hawkwind On Classic Black Vinyl. Remastered From The Original Master Tapes & Cut At Abbey Road Studios. Recorded on the band's UK Tour of December 1972, which followed the release of the band's recent studio album 'DOREMI FASOL LATIDO'. The live show was a continuous performance linked by poetry recitation by Robert Calvert and was a complete audio-visual experience. Featuring the dancers Stacia, Miss Renee and Tony Carrera, the concerts also featured an elaborate light show by famed lighting designer Liquid Len. The Space Ritual tour followed the huge success of the Silver Machine single (although the song did not feature in the live set) and three concerts were captured on tape by the Pye Records mobile unit. The resulting double album was adorned with memorable artwork and was a Top Ten hit in the UK upon it's release in May 1973. This 50th anniversary 2LP black vinyl repress was cut at Abbey Road studios utilising the original master tapes.
This release is a 2024 repress and differs from the previous releases by Atomehenge in that: - the vinyl is black - the catalog number ends with "X" - the barcode ends with "34" - some dates (on the back cover, in the gatefold, on the labels) are "2024" and some "2023" - there is no poster/foldout artwork insert - there is no hype sticker on the packaging [Back cover] All tracks ? 2023 Parlophone Records Ltd., a Warner Music Company. HYUNG RAE K. - 23/Oct/2024 4 of 5 Stars!
Without a doubt the greatest live rock album of all time. More than just music, an extravaganza of sound and concept, delivered by a band at their peak. One word of warning though, to new buyers... I bought the most recent pressing (2024), the SPACE RITUAL DOUBLE EDITION. which is brilliant in itself. Excellent production and sound.
